Suzhou’s largest and most famous garden. A 16th-century masterpiece of water, rocks, and pavilions. Allow 2 hours to do it justice.

Smaller than Zhuozheng but more refined. Famous for its unusually shaped limestone rocks?one of them, the “Cloud-capped Peak,” weighs 5 tons and was hauled here by boat in 1601.

A 36-metre leaning pagoda (tilted 2.5 degrees). Legend says a tiger guarded the tomb of King He Lu here. The surrounding park is lovely.
