Day 1 | Dali Old Town + Three Pagodas

Start point: Rent bike in Old Town. Most shops on Renmin Road. Electric scooter recommended for the full loop. Price: ¥30 bicycle, ¥60 electric scooter per day.
Route: Old Town → Caicun → Shuanglang (25 km) Shuanglang → Caihe → Xizhou (15 km) Total: 40 km. 3-4 hours with stops.

Xizhou Morning Market: Best at 7-9 AM. Raw, unfiltered. Bai women in traditional dress selling vegetables. Rice noodles ¥5-8. Fresh tofu ¥3. Not for tourists. That’s why it’s great.
Bai Architecture: Traditional Bai homes have a specific layout. Three rooms facing south, one facing east. Intricate wood carvings on doors and windows. Visit Yan’s Old House (严家大院): ¥30 entry.
